Car accidents: 1 dead, 1 seriously injured in Louisiana

A crash on March 3 had left one man dead and another person badly injured, according to law enforcement. Louisiana State Police troopers responded to the accident in the early evening on Interstate 10 East. Police believe one of the drivers may have been speeding, but no formal charges will be forthcoming as the driver was killed in the crash. As with most car accidents resulting in fatalities, this one remains under investigation.

A tragic accident recently claimed the lives of a woman, her unborn twins and her 7-year-old son. According to Louisiana authorities in St. John The Baptist Parish, the crash happened in the morning of Feb. 24 on Interstate 10. Negligent driver possible cause of fatal crash

A woman from Lacombe was tragically killed in a multi-vehicle accident during the evening of Feb. 18, according to local sources. Louisiana State Police Troop L responded to the accident, and has indicated that the cause of the crash was likely due to a negligent driver. Several other people were seriously hurt in the crash, which is still under investigation. As of this report, intoxication is not being considered a factor, and no charges have been filed.

Two people are dead and two more have been taken to the hospital in serious condition following a four-car pileup on Interstate 12 near New Orleans, according to local sources. Representatives of the Louisiana State Police confirmed the deaths of a woman and a man who have since been identified. The driver believed responsible is facing multiple charges, as is common in cases of fatal car accidents with a clear cause.

Louisiana authorities have confirmed the death of a 56-year-old driver and a 24-year-old cyclist in the accident. The other driver involved in the crash is facing serious charges, including two counts of vehicular homicide. In fatal car accidents, it is also possible for the families of the victims to file wrongful death suits separately from the criminal charges. 

Wrongful death suits possible in 4-car crash

Two people are dead and two others are seriously injured following a four-car pileup in Slidell, according to local sources. Spokespeople for the Louisiana State Police confirmed the deaths of one woman and one man. Police have arrested the driver believed to be responsible for the crash, meaning that individual could face criminal conviction. He could also be the subject of a wrongful death suit or suits if the families of the deceased so choose.

Car accidents: 1 dead after serious crash in Louisiana

Police say a Raceland man is potentially facing jail time following a serious car accident on the afternoon of Dec. 23. The Louisiana State Police responded to the crash on LA 308, which claimed the life of a 60-year-old woman. One driver has been arrested and is facing serious charges. If he is found guilty, as in other car accidents, he could face the loss of his license, fines and time in prison. 

Car accidents: baby dies in Louisiana crash

A tragic accident has claimed the life of a 6-day-old baby in Sulphur, according to local sources. Authorities in Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana, are still investigating the cause of the crash that also injured three other people. Single-vehicle car accidents are always carefully investigated by law enforcement, and this case is no exception. So far, no charges have been filed.
