Driver killed in tragic head-on crash

On Behalf of | Jan 13, 2022 | Motor Vehicle Accidents

Although driving is something that is often taken for granted, it requires focus and attention at all times. For many experienced Louisiana drivers, getting behind the wheel and taking to the road is just second nature. However, this comfort can also give drivers a false sense of security. Years of experience or a high-skill level does not make a driver immune to serious or fatal car accidents. Losing focus for just a split second behind the wheel is enough time to cause a serious crash.

Head-on crash

Recently, a head-on collision in Bayou Blue killed one person and injured another. The accident happened during the afternoon hours on Bayou Blue Road near Maggie Lane. According to reports, the driver of a tow truck was headed north when, for unknown reasons, the driver crossed the centerline of the highway into the southbound lane. Reports said the tow truck then collided head-on with a southbound car.

Tragic death

Authorities said both the driver and passenger in the car were injured and taken to a local hospital for treatment. Tragically, the driver of the car later died from his injuries. Reportedly, the driver of the tow truck was not injured in the crash. Police said no impairment is suspected but the crash remains under investigation.

These days drivers face a significant number of distractions. Driving distracted or not paying attention while driving can lead to an accident with life-altering consequences. Those in Louisiana who have been injured or suffered the loss of a loved one due to negligence in car accidents reserve the right to contact an attorney and seek legal recourse. Damages from a successful lawsuit could help victims and families move forward from such a traumatic experience.
