One man has sadly lost his life in a motor vehicle crash in Grand Parish. Two other people were injured in the crash, which involved two cars. The accident occurred on a recent Monday morning.

Events leading up to the crash

The recent fatal accident took place along U.S. Route 71. According to police, a 61-year-old man was driving and attempted to turn but did not yield to traffic. He then reportedly struck a car that a 68-year-old man was driving.

Police said the older man’s car ended up descending along an embankment as a result of the impact of the collision. The car then allegedly struck several trees and caught fire. The man passed away at the accident scene. Meanwhile, the younger man and the passenger in his motor vehicle survived the crash but had to receive treatment for injuries not deemed life-threatening.

Seeking justice and monetary damages after these tragedies

The loved ones of the older man who died in the Louisiana accident may choose to file a wrongful death claim against the younger man who allegedly caused the accident by clipping his car. Likewise, the passenger who was injured in the accident may file a personal injury claim against the younger man, seeking the reimbursement of monetary damages. A financial damage award cannot undo the events leading to the accident, but it may help with covering accident-related losses, such as hospital bills and burial costs. It may also help the affected parties to more easily move forward from the tragic ordeal.
