Unfortunately, the tractor-trailer reportedly slammed into the back of a pickup truck occupied by three people, including the child.
Driver arrested and charged
Tragically, authorities said the child died from injuries suffered in the crash. Reportedly, the driver of the pickup truck and a passenger suffered moderate injuries and were taken to a local hospital for treatment. According to police, the driver of the tractor-trailer was arrested and charged with reckless operation and negligent homicide.
